Snuggly Bears

Been thinking about snuggling lately because it's been so cold! We've been spoiled all winter until now, which makes it even more unbearable.

Life of late: 1) started a new job at a bakery, so at least I get free coffee and tea and hot chocolate. 2) been having a strong urge to dye my hair, which may be symptomatic of some unidentified anxiety. Still figuring that one out.

I pictured myself in a Denver bar that night...

I'm going to Colorado on Sunday before going home for Christmas, and I cannot express my excitement. I'm pretty sure my brain is preparing for the amount of excitement about to ensue by making me unusually sad this week. It's worth it. These are pictures from the last time I was in Colorado in the winter. I can't wait to get out of New York for a while, see my best friend in the whole world, and finally eat some decent Mexican food.

Gina, My Jewel

The best part about Colorado is getting to see my best friend Gina! She is my sanity. When I'm in Colorado I practically spend every second with her. I'm really lucky to have such a good friend--one thing I've learned in college and after is that a lot of people don't know how to be a good friend or even how to have one. I'm so grateful to have Gina in my life.

In honor of our amazing friendship we bought matching friendship salt shakers at an antique store. We share a mutual love for tomatoes with salt, Gina perhaps a little more so than I, so they are perfect. Except that the receipt read "pumpkin salt shakers," which is why we documented them next to this twin tomato from the farmer's market in Golden. Proof that they're totally tomatoes.

Wash Park

After Santa Cruz I flew straight to Denver, which will always and forever be my hometown despite a few technicalities--I was born in D.C. and lived in Maryland and Indiana before moving to Denver, not to mention that my family now lives in Wisconsin. But thankfully I have Jon's family and my BFF Gina's family willing to temporarily adopt me while I'm there, so it still feels like home.

I went to Washington Park with Jon and his mama and we walked through the gardens and around the lake. I made Jon take a picture of me with this flower that is bigger than my head.

Mental Hygiene

I'm not only taking a long overdue break from New York, I'm also getting away from this freaking computer. As much as I'm enjoying this self-indulgent blogging experience, the internet is taking over my life.

So goodbye & wish me many real life experiences and the regeneration of my eyeballs.
